When I was a kid my dad’s job was programming and fixing computers. He worked really long hours, came home late most nights, and I missed him so much! Growing up I swore I would never work in a business that had anything to do with computers! Fast forward…I’ve been using computers and teaching with technology for the past 30 years!
So what is a SMART DIGITAL KID (SDK)?
SDKs use technology with PURPOSE and PASSION! SDKs are self-aware and understand the benefits and side effects of digital device use.
My three children are all grown up now, and I have a young granddaughter. I don’t want my granddaughter to ever think that I am more interested in my digital device (phone, computer, tablet, etc.) than in her! I want to give her a ton of undivided attention and for her to know what it means to be a smart kid living in a digital world.
